...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT EDT /11 PM CDT/ TONIGHT
THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...Portions of east central Kentucky and south central
Kentucky, including the following counties, in east central
Kentucky, Boyle, Garrard and Madison. In south central Kentucky,
Adair, Allen, Barren, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Lincoln,
Logan, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Simpson, Taylor and
Warren.
* WHEN...From Midnight EDT /11 PM CDT/ tonight through Thursday
afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected across southern and
parts of southeastern KY late Wednesday night into Thursday
morning. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches with locally
higher amounts will be possible. Lake Cumberland region is
likely to see the highest rainfall totals and greatest flood
risk according to the latest forecast data.
